Their home was called “The Big House” in Taft, Oklahoma because everyone knew if they could make it to “The Big House”, Ida would be there, waiting, with open arms always smiling, ready to feed and nurture them as if they were her own. Ida took care of her stroke-ridden father for 14 years, married a man 16 years her senior, with an elderly mother which she cared for them both over 20 years. Later, she united in marriage to Oliver Wallace and moved to Taft, Oklahoma where they spent many happy years together.Įveryone who knew this wonderful lady was awed at the unconditional love she showered on all.
